Founded Benefit Group in 2014 and has 20 years of employee benefits experience.
Prior to founding Benefit Group, Michael spent 10 years in sales on the carrier side of the business with Liberty Mutual and Genworth Financial. Michael built Benefit Group with the purpose of bringing capabilities typically only reserved for larger companies down to the middle and lower-middle markets. He is incredibly proud of the team that has come together and looks forward to the continued success of our clients.
Michael earned his BA in Marketing from the Eli Broad School of Business at Michigan State University.
Outside of work, Michael loves being dad to his four amazing children. He enjoys playing golf, water basketbrall and relaxing on Lake Michigan.
Producer
Joined Benefit Group in 2018 and has 14 years of employee benefits experience.
Prior to joining Benefit Group, Heather was an Account Director at Gallagher where she built a large book of business of clients ranging from 50 to 5000 lives. She also has held sales roles at Hub International and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. Heather’s wealth of industry experience allows her the unique ability to help her clients navigate the complexity of the employee benefits landscape.
Heather earned her BA in Sales from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University.
Outside of the office, she is mom to 4 amazing children and loves being able to watch them grow. She enjoys playing golf and tennis and spending time on Lake Michigan.
Producer
Joined Benefit Group in 2022 and has 3 years of employee benefits experience.
Prior to Benefit Group, Matt worked for Mutual of Omaha as an employee sales representative in their Detroit sales office. With a focus on our private equity partners, Matt is responsible for cultivating new relationships with the PE investment teams and helps strategize solutions for their portfolio companies.
Matt earned a BA in Sales from the Phillips School of Business at High Point University.
Matt grew up in New England and is an avid Boston sports fan. He enjoys athletics in his free time like golfing, squash, basketball, skiing. Anything that will allow him to move around and be competitive.
Account Executive
Joined Benefit Group in 2021 and has 16 years experience in the employee benefits industry.
Prior to Benefit Group Lisa worked in account management at Austin Benefit Group and Keyser Insurance Group. Lisa’s passion for benefits is rooted in her commitment to bringing unparalleled service to her clients. Her standard of excellence is the cornerstone of the Benefit Group service culture.
Lisa earned her BS in Biology from Kalamazoo College.
Outside of work, Lisa splits her time between gardening, baking and time with family.
Client Concierge
Joined Benefit Group in 2022 and has 26 years of employee benefits experience.
Prior to Benefit Group, Amy worked as a Client Advocate and Account Manager for Keyser Insurance Group. Amy’s role as Client Concierge allows her to assist clients’ employees with any and all questions relating to benefits. Working directly with employees, she is able to act as an extension of the clients’ HR team.
Amy graduated from the Legal Secretary Program at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
In her free time, Amy enjoys genealogy and finding information about her ancestors. She also enjoys gardening and most of all spending time with her grandkids.
Project Manager
Joined Benefit Group in 2022 and has 6 years of customer service experience.
Prior to joining Benefit Group, Alex was on the operations team for Arc Payments a large payments ISO. He helped implement multiple systems that helped improve efficiency, ensured optimal operations and high levels of client service. He also has previous financial services experience at United Wholesale Mortgage as well as retail experience at Party City. Alex’s role is to help support, both technically and operationally, the sales and service teams.
In his free time, Alex enjoys camping and exploring museums with his wife and son.
